Recovered Stolen Property

On Monday, May 2, 2011, at 2:58 p.m., Meridian Township Police responded to Bank of America, 2731 East Grand River Avenue, reference subjects attempting to cash a stolen check with another person's driver's license. A bank employee was able to provide a vehicle description and the vehicle was located and a traffic stop initiated.

The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested for identity theft and related
fraudulent activity. The subjects are lodged at the Ingham County Jail awaiting
arraignment. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a stolen laptop and camera equipment from Illinois. The suspects were also in possession of stolen driver's licenses, checkbooks and credit cards. This put an end to what is believed to be a multi-state operation by this couple.
