Consumers Energy currently has a project at Okemos Rd and Mt Hope in Okemos, which resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes of Okemos Rd this morning.  They are moving the poles supplying the main power source to all of Meridian Township.  They had anticipated the timeframe of the lane closures to be 1-3 hours.  Unfortunately, there were unforeseen obstacles. 

 

We were notified one of the northbound lanes have reopened as of 1:15pm this afternoon.  The other lane is expected to reopen shortly.

 

The contractors advised us the southbound lanes of Okemos Rd will be closed tomorrow from Mt Hope to Hamilton Rd around 8:30am.  They anticipate the lanes will reopen approximately 4:00pm.  Motorists can expect delays in this area.

 

We will communicate any potential schedule changes as we receive them.
