Training

One of the great things about our department being active in social media is that not only can we share crime prevention tips, information about our statistics, but we can also share information about the great things our Officers do.  As with any other job there is often a lot of hard work and preparation that goes into the finished product that the public sees and expects. At the Meridian Township Police Department we hope to provide a valuable service to our community.  To that end our Officers train in many different topics; the focus today is our firearms training.

MTPD's officers train with the department four times a year. Three of those times we conduct dynamic training that addresses skills the officers will need if ever faced with an armed conflict.  They train to move and shoot, give commands while they are addressing threats, shoot from positions of cover, and use multiple lethal and
less lethal platforms.

As with everyone else we hope we never have to use our weapons, but if our officers are ever put in the position that they need to protect our community or themselves we think they have been well trained to do so.

MTPD is now hiring!
