Meridian Township, MI –– On Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 1:17 p.m. Meridian Township Officers responded to a bank robbery at the Independent Bank at 2119 Hamilton Road in Okemos. The suspect told a bank employee he had a gun and demanded money. The bank employee complied. The suspect fled on foot and crossed Hamilton Road. It is believed the suspect fled to a vehicle parked behind the businesses on the northeast corner of Hamilton and Okemos Road. Prior to the robbery, the suspect was seen on foot across the street from the bank.
Suspect Description: White male, age 25-35 years, scruffy facial hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and an orange hat.
Vehicle description: pewter extended cab pickup, unknown
make with a metal bed extender.
