Location: Okemos, MI
Salary Range: $16.83 - 26.52 per hour
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt

Department: Police
Description: Perform police duties related to the safety of the public and provide service responses to reports of crimes in progress and/or crimes that occured previously. Respond to requests for medical services and emergencies commensurate with training received and respond to traffic accident scenes to provide medical aid, investigation and enforcement of related traffic laws. Provide other non-criminal complaint services as directed. Works in cooperation with individual citizens and formal/informal citizen organizations to identify and resolve community problems.
Qualifications: Be certified/certifiable by the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) - YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED A POLICE ACADEMY.
You must live within 20 miles of the nearest Township boundary prior to end of probationary period.
Two years of college education credits at minimum; undergraduate degree or higher preferred
Undergo and pass medical fitness and psychological exams as administered by the employer's contracted agents
Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators license issued by the State of Michigan
Compensation is per the POAM/Meridian Township collective bargaining agreement available online at Collective bargaining agreement
