On Wednesday, March 21,
2012, at 8:18 a.m., Meridian Township Police and Fire responded to a vehicle crash
on Central Park Drive
near Marsh Road .
The vehicle was traveling west on Central Park Drive when it left the roadway,
struck a tree, and came to rest in a grassy area on the north edge of the Meridian
Mall property. The driver, Dr. Paul Hunter, appeared to have suffered a medical
emergency that caused him to lose control of the vehicle. Meridian Township
Paramedics transported him to Sparrow
Hospital where he later
died. The collision is not believed to be the cause of death, and alcohol is
not believed to be a factor in the crash.
